As part of Chemists Celebrate Earth Day 2008
and in recognition of
its theme, "Streaming Chemistry!", the American Chemical
Society sponsored an illustrated haiku contest for students in
Kindergarten through 12th grade. Students were invited to produce an
illustrated haiku poem demonstrating the theme "Streaming Chemistry"
that would reflect some aspect of water science and the
responsible use and care for this limited and valuable resource.

Local ACS sections were invited to run the contest in their
areas. The North Jersey Section participated, and the winners
